Continued Successful Development of the CETO Technology, August 2008
Carnegie (ASX:CNM) is pleased to announce the continued successful development of the CETO technology and, for the first time, has released video footage of one of the units in operation at its Wave Energy Research Facility in Fremantle, Western Australia. The video shows the CETO unit operating in a moderate swell driving the buoy up and down and the pump unit back and forth.
The complete CETO 2 prototype unit was deployed in January and has performed as
The CETO technology is the only fully-submerged, wave energy system that converts the energy in the ocean’s swell into high-pressure seawater which is pumped ashore to spin hydro-electric turbines onshore.
The scaling of the CETO design to suit the water depth and prevailing ocean conditions for the first commercial-scale demonstration project has commenced and is on track to be completed in 2009.
